Well done, I saw him do his novice test - super pony!
Did you win one of the big prizes?

Thank you julieb - no such luck im afraid regarding winning a big prize - the arena that the ride offs were held in was far too deep for Bilbo (and the other ponies). the overall winner was second in the original prelim on a big black warmblood type horse and she turned up late to the prizegiving, so no idea what she won, apart from a sash. the lady that was reserve was also second in her class on a bigish black cob type, but she didnt get anything from the ride-off.
Dont know what other prizes were handed out to the championship winners - we were hoping for the holiday in Menorca if we won (although we never go on hols and dont have passports)! It sure would have been fun to have won that one.
We had a fab time though as I love watching the little chap do his stuff - he always tries his absolute best at whatever he does. Well done to everyone else who competed there - it would be interesting to know what prizes were awarded for different championships.
will definately run the qualifiers for all the classes again (apart from the workers of course) as the show seemed to have a really nice atmosphere and it makes a change for unaffiliated classes to get big prizes.

Did they have the ride off in the sand arena?
Both myself and daughter on a dartie and highland had to do our tests on the beach - very deep and heavy going which is a shame as the rubber arena is super!

we were lucky and had the rubber arena - the ride offs were on the beach and extremely deep, especially in the corners. the big 'dressage' type horses were at a def advantage over the m&ms. our highland would have just rolled in there!
is your darti the little dark bay one? if so was admiring from afar (with a little girl on board). we didnt see much of what went on in the sand arena throughout the day so missed your tests, but thought it was all run very well and it was good to have listed juges for each separate test.
