My first time at north west champs and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really organised and super rosettes and sashes! Got into the top ten with my mare in the over 14.2 inhand. My gelding was in the top ten in the veterans and i took my fave coloured pony into the show hunter pony and was reserve champion to a very worthy champion! She was champion coloured with her owner who also got champion hunter with her big boy. I took the coloured into the supreme and was over the moon to be called out as reserve supreme. Fab day with lovely friends, and super atmosphere

we always enjoy this show but this one is thier best ever i think so well organised and so well entered ,the quality of the enrtries was superb at the weekend ,what a hard job for the judges ,well done everyone . we had a good show with our lot getting 6th in the yearlings ,top 10 youngstock with th eyearling 3rd in best con .6th sec c/d ,5th youngstock on sunday and 1st mm smalls .sadley we had two in the coloured who didnt get in but cant win em all they did well in their other classes will miss going for ridden this year but judges on our day no good for us ,would be wasting our money ,so sadly we wont be going but good luck all who are still to enjoy the show

Hi Elitelady,
It was me you where talking to .. I was the one running the little black pony out (you asked me his breeding ... which I didn't know - doh!). The bay gelding 15hh was run out by my husband he was fourth (and I was 6th) he is a three year old (he is for sale on behalf of his owners), well done on your win, did I hear correctly third year running ? That's fantastic, are you doing the riddens next week ?

hello everyone and well done to all those who went. we had a great weekend getting into the top ten in the veterans where my daughter got 3rd chuffed to bits with the pony who acted like a 3 year old and not 17 as he is ;D it was a long day but thoroughly enjoyed it. on a downer made a m & p pie for tea took gravy and mushy peas only to realise the piggin microwave didn't work (well it has been over a year since we last used it ha ha!!) so we ended up eating cold m & p pie with warm gravy and mushy peas mmmmmm lovely will be taking microwave out of kitchen for next saturday so we can have a warm lasagne lol

Hi Ponymum, I think he will too (I prefer him plaited up rather than a B), however one problem - he's a colt !!! Second problem his owner like him as a colt ... I'll keep working on him, cos I think he would be great as a ridden SHP ! Tell Georgia she has the ride if he is gelded xx

we also had a great time at the show, my yearling was 5th in the yralings and 6th in the A&Bs my sec B was 5th in the youngstock and top ten in the welsh, on the sunday however i plaited them both up as people said he would be a great hunter, but it didnt go down too well!!! lol at least i dont have to faff plaiting anymore! i also showed another hunter for a friend, which is my ponys half brother, he was in the top ten,
so all in all had a great show, was very very well run entries brilliant and everything ran so smoothly!! was good to be at a show with evening performances that dont go on all night! my boys like there sleep!! lol welldone everyone who competed what a great standard of horses and ponies!!

Could anyone tell me how loud the evening performances are? x

The evening performances have alot of atmosphere with quite alot of clapping and cheering, people started to stamp their feet but got told to stop. Having been to lots of evening performances i would say this is one of the loudest. x

For this coming Sunday the evening performance audience will be told to keep the noise down as we have leadrein, first riddens and child handlers in. We are aware that even when there are older ones in the ring, these tots could be waiting in the collecting ring. The stewards will also turn the little ones across the arena on the go round before they reach the seating area so the ponies dont go right up to the wall infront of the audience.

Well just as I went past the gallery on Sat Night at the In Hand, there was lots of stamping I was last seen doing 90 Miles per hour, sailing through the air, on the end of a set of reins behind a Connie I did'nt know could go that fast we did end up 5th , not so sure we should have been though !!!
