Our OAP Darty has already got a good winter coat, he isn't rugged at all but is getting sweaty as its so warm, can't clip him as he's retired. Anyone else's pony having same prob?

My pony is the same, every day he is sweaty around his ears. I was getting quite worried about him as he has never had this problem before. He always throws a big winter coat. Glad your is the same, i feel a little releived!

Our part bred is the same, dont want to clip as it has to live out hates rugs on too!!

Lots of horses are sweaty at the moment, even the clipped out ones (including my WB) - its just so mild!
Dont worry - the weather will change and they will all be more comfortable and we will all have to put wooly hats and gloves on!

If he's uncomfortable, then I would probably give him a slight clip - just a bib to start with - to see if that helps. The temperature has dropped up here this week though so he may be okay by now.
