just arrived back from todays show having taken a foal andyearling in to the hack classes. We are soaking wet but if any body from the showmanagement sees this comment sort your loadspeakers out as they are not heard in the trailor parking areas and when you are trying to balance two classes and championships its only possible when you have colleagues to sit in the arena and use mobile phones. So people who have travelled on their own would either be late for classes, stand around with youngster soaking wet or be very lucky with their timing.

Very sorry Fatty, we did have a few problems with the speaker system, but Myerscough own it and we had to do best we could!I would like to thank everyone who came to the show in such horrible wet weather, especialy with their youngsters.Apart from the weather though we did have a good turnout and there were some lovely horses and ponies. So thanks everyone for making the effort.

hi Shadylady. sorry you couldnt make it, there was 5 in class the winner was a friends colt named Santana Special Edition, by Angela Cranes Oldenburg stallion who went on to get reserve champion. Did you know on the 22nd November at Solihull there is a national foal/yearling show to make up for your disapointment

Think the wind played a big part in the loudspeaker not being clear. We could here it but had to stop what we were doing and listen. Unfortunately we missed the juicy bit.

Just a quick one to say I compete at Myerscough alot and have never had a problem with the loudspeaker, however at the show yesterday the gale force winds made a problem with everything. If the loudspeaker had have been "louder" Im sure quite a few poeple would have complained that it was spooking youngsters? Also the show was organised by the NCPA not Myerscough.

Am I the only person, to date, to actuallly appreciate the wonderful clean and warm facilities offered by the college, parking for the lorries almost at the doors of both arenas. clean toilets and lovely catering facilities and the wonderfully maintained indoor surfaces, one judge actually picked up the manure in her ring! Yes, it was Lancashire NCPA who held the show and provided us all with super dedicated stewards and all the other personel who you never see at a show but are always labouring away out of sight.. Although, on reflection I don't suppose its too bad if the only complaints, so far, were about the PA system. Somebody commented on the gale force winds, must have been at a different venue to the one I was at, unless it was much earlier in the day. We had a really enjoyable day and are grateful for having such a fabulous venue in the North West.

Does anybody know who the photographer was? Myerscough is a fantastic facility and one of my favourite venues - such a shame a lot of societies no longer use it due to the constraints enforced over parking a while ago.

Our first time at showing at Myerscough and I can only agree with Aitch, lovley place and well run, we however had my lovely hubby kept happy eating the delicious steak and ale pie whilst reporting to us back at the truck what the ring was up to. Not daft us lol
Does anyone know who the photographer was please ?

I agree Aitch. Myerscough is a superb venue. It was really windy early on. Was the photographer not Ken Ettridge? He's the usual photographer they use.

Thankyou for all the nice comments regarding the show, I am a committee member and although we did have some problems with the PA we could not turn it up anymore or it would have been very loud in the arena's. Unfortunately we have no control regarding the volume outside. We only hire the arena. I would just like to remind everybody that the NCPA is a charity and all it's committee work very very hard, giving their time freely. It is hard work organising a show and we do this for the competitors. So please take this into consideration when commenting as this is all done for you (The Competitor), we try hard to please but unfortunately cannot control the weather. We just hope people had an enjoyable day.
