- have just been reading the horse and just seen jane webber out hunting with silverstrream and the fellow rider rider richard mills . And richard mills is the ride judge for the cobs at hoys next year. So guess who will win the cobs then? She has done her homework on that one then

So which particular rule does that breach then? I don't recall a rule saying you can't compete under anyone that hunts with the same pack as you?

Comments such as binthere's lend great weight to the argument for not allowing guests to post. All HOYS competitors are going to have to become hermits in case they have a chance meeting with anyone vaguely connected with judging. Rather pathetic to see something sinister in hunting together isn't it.

binthere are you some kind of a freak? Just because they hunt with the same pack how on earth is that going to predict the HOYS results? ?? I dont know either of those people personally but I think you are being extremely unfair even starting such a pathetic thread. Was Richard Mills actually riding Jayne Webbers cob out hunting...............no I didnt think so. Get a life

Oh for Gods sake - get a life! Havent you got anything better to say than that - binthere. I do wonder at some of the people (usually guests) who post comments such as you have!

Binthere, when transparency is rightly so important to you (and Jane Webber has hidden nothing), why not tell us who you are???

Really people, does it matter? just relax and wait for hoys next year. Nothing wrong with being nice to our judges with the hope of getting some results! If it works, great, if not, so be it! I dont think someone is a freak just because they are suspicious, if Jane didn't want discussing in this manner, why get photographed with such people, not saying she has done anything wrong, just it cant just be the one person in the whole world thinking badly of her? Surely?

Surely, this picture is just in response to the H&HO thread that said people only show if they are too scared to jump and too useless to do dressage?

threads like this remind me of the "tenuous links" bit on Chris Evans' radio show where people claim a link with someone famous like - my Grandad's domino partners wooden leg maker is the brother of the plumber who mended HOYS judges washer!
You could probably eventually link most people one way or another!

One minute people are complaining that show horses do nothing other than show or get schooled and that show hunters aren't actually capable of a day out hunting, now here's proof and good publicity for the sport that some of the top show horses go out and enjoy a change of scenery and the first thing some people do is claim it's a way for one person to secure a placing at HOYS next year?! There have been some awful threads on HHO about showing and the showing community and threads like this are partly the cause of them!
If Jayne were to go on and win HOYS next year, it would simply be because she has stunning, well schooled horses who lead a exciting and varied life - not because she happened to go out on the same hunt as someone who is judging next year!

Well said kk - I was so pleased to see that article this morning for all the reasons you list. Binthere and doesitmatter - I should get out there yourselves and see if it can sweeten you both up and you can go as well as she does!! Or are you one person?

Jayne cannot possibly win Hoys cobs next year as I saw Richard Mills at Watford Gap services 2 weeks ago and sat 3 seats behind him in the Little Chef so I am pretty sure that my cob will actually win

What an absolutely ridiculous thread to start! I daresay when all the HOYS judges are announced there will very soon be a "predictions" thread started - and that, before any combinations have been out in the new season. Get a life, go hunting, enjoy this lovely wet weather and look forward to New Year with good thoughts

Well metoyou I don't see how lying is going to get you any closer to that HOYS win. After all if you told the whole story then everyone would know that you were on your way to have your cob measured when you stopped at Watford Gap services and while you were in Little Chef some "farrier" from a carpentry firm was actually sawing your cob's feet off so he would measure and I know this for a fact as I was sitting one row of seats closer to the HOYS cob judge than you and even managed to see what he was eating so I think you'll find that I will be winning the cobs at HOYS next year.
As to anyone who seriously thinks that two people ending up out hunting on the same days as each other when they are based in the same area of the country is anything other than just that, get a life.

Sorry to disappoint everyone but I passed him the salt in the little chef! Don't have a cob myself but I'm thinking of becoming a "producer". Any takers anyone - I can guarantee you a HOYS win and only £500 per week!
