I took Stinky out for our first attempt at workers - blind leading the blind. Lovely course and we survived and came 2nd in the working cob due to me screwing up and having him wrong leg the second canter. Our first ever WH fence - my eyes were almost open Although he only started jumping in October, and I have not jumped before that for five years, he really looks after me and gets me out of trouble. Taking me through the double and over the last fence - eyes were now open and I was enjoying myself He won the traditional class and was such a good boy for a young horse that until the day before and not been sat on since the 13th December. Lovely show as always, not huge numbers but I had a great time and many thanks to the organisers for nice day out and letting me do some more practice on the WH course after the show - he now knows what he is doing and really enjoyed going round again. Now, that was 2'3 and somehow (and boy do I have work to do) I have got to be able to do 2'9 - 3' by the end of August for the BSPA class - or get someone who can do him justice to take him round for me.

Haven't BSPA got WHs at the April show? That's at Keysoe too. Not bad numbers considering most people I have spoken to haven't been able to sit on their horses for nearly a month due to the horrible weather.

If they do, I might have a go if I think I can get round without me scaring him by ending up round his neck or falling off. I have come off a couple of times and he really gets upset - hence if he feels me coming loose, he stops and waits for me - he is a very good boy at looking after his rider.
I might ask if I can do the 2'6 pony class HC - to be honest he would probably measure as 153 at the moment, but his bum is up again, (he is 6 in July) and he is 153 - 154 at home so I just go in the horses and look the smallest.
That said, he looks as if he is doing 2'9 - 3' over the fences so really it is just my head that is the problem.
Most horses there were very well behaved even with the cold wind up the bums.

No you can turn up - there are some classes you have to qualify for - but not many.
If I am ok and able to compete, I will be there for BSPA and the Trailblazers, I am still intending to win the Working traditional horse/cob class at the BSPA champs.
