How much would you be willing/expect to pay monthly for an 8 acre field and six stables on a yard shared with one other person (separate fields) Yorkshire area? Grazing is of average quality, some weeds (buttercups and thistles) but has a thick sward of grass. The field and stables are rented as a whole so the price would be same no matter how many horses. The person renting could have all year turn out if they wanted and also could do what they want to field. The downside is no school but there are schools close by (hacking distance) that can be hired. Any ideas?

A yard round here (Worcestershire) with 8 stables & 12 acres was rented out for £400 pcm - if you want to rent it out as a whole I think you will put people off if you charge per horse, someone renting for their sole use won't want to be paying the equivalent of livery prices per horse otherwise they may as well be at livery with all the extras that come with that eg, help at hand, schooling area/arena.

I used to pay £140 per week for 7 stables and 10 acres of grazing and couldnt have more than 7 horses on there. Lovely yard owners though and a very quite location with good hacking etc.

I pay £140 pcm for 8 acres including water - we have refenced most of it & I have provided the 6 stables & our own electric (from leisure batteries) but we are allowed to do whatever we like (within the law!). Downside is that hacking isn't brilliant as we are next to a fairly busy road but at least the ponies get used to traffic, jets & helicopters!
