The music was dire also, felt more like a funeral than a show

I think that you might be making excuses using the surface for your horses lameness. These show horses of today what would they do on the hunting field!! Not go over a stone!!

Erm Danny, my horse isn't a hunter, so I would never expect it to go hunting

Sorry tut tut, wasn't sure what you meant! Haven't got all the hunter results, only the heavies! HW James Aird was 1st with Richard T's OH 2nd twas james Monaghans Hunter ridden by James Aird. I felt the entries in the hunter class were quite low, like 3 in the smalls, 7 in the LW etc not a lot in MW and 5 in the HW. The Am Hunter had 24 or so entered and about 14 turned up. I must say I loved the hack that RT was riding for a young lady in the hacks, it was lovely

The lorry park facility has been well documented over the past few months on several websites and seems to be a favourite topic at the moment - surely everyone was aware of the problems and should have come as no surprise !
Scotland - if your horse is lame today from walking over a few stones maybe it has an underlying problem to which you have been alerted early ? and a comment on the choice of music ! - you really must have had a bad day - its background music for gods sake not a concert (In the summertime and Spirit in the sky is not something i have heard at any funeral)
I for one am glad to see this show back on the Scottish show calender

Come on bemused - are you seriously saying you don't think those stones will have caused problems for some horses? I've heard of several becoming lame after crossing them. I for one, although I like the surface in the arenas, will not take any of my ponies to a show there until the car park is sorted. I like showing, but not at an undue risk to my ponies' welfare.

The stones in the car park are terrible, but there again some of the tracks we hack on are just as bad. Can understand an unshod horse maybe feeling it a bit but a shod horse should be okay just to walk over them. As a show centre it is not a centre of excellence as advertised. The work in area was in the middle of the gallops, there was a very small area beside the workers, one horse got a nasty kick in there. They really need to sort out the access road and the lack of catering, at the evening dressage and showjumping there is no burger van. Today, dressage on from 9am til godknowswhen, no catering, until someone went home and made up rolls and brought large flasks of hot drinks. However, as Princess Anne was visiting last week, turf was laid outside the entrance and new signage put up

Hind sight is a wonderful thing My horse has no underlying problems and worked in fine on the gallops, which were full of rabbit holes (thankyou to the person lunging, that had put out a few dressage markers!), it was only when I brought her over the stones to enter the ring, that we were aware my horse was lame! I wasn't aware at the time, that you could work indoors! Okay, it was not a concert! But I wasn't the only one that commented on the music, it did improve as the day went on I heard from local competitors, that the weekly jumping is like a night club LOL I am very glad this show is back on the calender and applaud the organisers Essay Over Did any of the over nighters visit the Tally Ho in Winchburgh and get sacrifised

Heard one overnighter found out the joys of sectarianism (sp) Missed the badly signed turnng, ended up in Uphall during an Orange March, flute bands & drums, followed by a large fight and they were there with lorryload of horses
