Not the best venue - parking was a problem - schooling arena was in the next county! The judge in the LR did not seem to know that Lr's do not all trot together! On the plus side the announcements were very good which is such a help at any show. We did reasonably well and travelled back on the M6 toll road - worth every penny of the £9 toll- what an easy road!

wellI was there early so parking was not an issue an was very pleased my son qualified in the first ridden on crumpwell Henman and he is only a baby and my daughter rode her new dartmoor we have only had a week and she has just been backed and she was so well behaved , I have to agree about the jugde, she did not have clue the lead reins troted all around together, which I have never seen in 10 years of doing lead rein, and she made the first riddens use half of the tiny outdoor school then linned them up most odd, which really made them think of were togo, my daughter has only been off the lead twice and this really confussed her

Where was the show held this year? Who was the judge who judged the lead rein and first ridden classes?

badgerrewoo - yes part-breds have to be resistered with wpcs or overstamped if registered with NPS/AHS etc.
Does anyone have any of the inhand results?

The venue was a Health and Safety nightmare - just an accident waiting to happen. Lead reins waiting to go in the small arena and stallions and youngstock waiting with them to go in the large arena. there was just nowhere to get small ponies and jockeys to safety if something had thrown a wobbly in that small space.
The ridden judge obvoiusly didn't have a clue how to judge a ridden class. She had no idea how to line them up in any of the classes. She had the lead reins all trotting together. they then just did their individual shows without standing up in front of her. She judged how welsh ridden classes used to be judged 20years ago. Obviously never been to a seminar lately.
We will be giving Rodbaston a miss next year.

I have never in my life seen a ridden ring run so badly! Not only did the judge have absolutly no clue as to what she was doing but the steward was just as brainless! Honestly if your going to judge/steward a class you need to atleast know how it is run!!! I dont see why the WPCS even bother with ridden classes anymore, its all the same, inhands are put first and are run properly where as the riddens, well if you were there you'd have seen my point aspecially in the lead rein class, honestly troting round together are they mad!? I am surprised that they didnt have the first riddens cantering around! To be honest the ridden side of the show was an absolute JOKE! I shall not be attending next year! Photographer was www.equipics.co.uk I am not happy with them either there is ONE picture of a lead rein from the class! Well theres my rant over with

Haha i have to say Hayche totally agree the ridden judge was mental seemed to have no idea what she was doing. Looked like she had never seen her pony in her life.
We just had to laugh where she placed our pony!
But thats showing for you!

Agree with all the above comments, both on a safety side and like you say the ridden judge was terrible, in saying that if she had, had a good steward she would have taken charge of the ring and worked it correctly.....We went for the in-hand but watched the ridden and thought omg,.......have to say there was some very nice riddens , a roan caught my eye and a lovely dun sec B.

Interesting comment about the pictures. The only one of our first ridden she has her ears back - which she almost never does. My friend with a LR pony did not get any pics of hers at all. In the circumstances I might have been glad not to get any!! Midlands WPCS will have to find another venue for next year or else there will be no entries.
