The vote according to the CEO was circa 900.
The 50% plus 1% rule is used on actual votes and not the membership size.
For example if 900 people voted to pass a rule you would need 450 voters plus a further 1% of voters.
Giving a grand total of 459 to carry the vote through. This vote had over 600 of the 900 votes cast voting in favour of it. To over turn the rule quoting the 50% plus 1% rule therefore is not correct.

Would agree they have little knowledge of the constitution.
