Hi - Does anyone know where I could get a cotton rug with a neck cover for using in the stable for a pony with mild sweet itch. He has got a boett for the field but seems ok in the stable was looking for something light and cool and to cover his neck. Any ideas suggestions will be appreciated

We use the 'kool coats' which are in a white like cotton material with built in neck cover ...the neck cover is lined in satin so doesnt rub the mane. Think they made by Weatherbeeta. Our local country store was selling them ...normally about £29. My Sec C wears one and she itches also my sec D wears his outside as it protects his coat from bleaching. They good value

We had a SI pony - we used the Boett 24/7 from March to November. He was quite happy in the stable in it....and this kept the dreaded midges off him in there. When it was cool we used a light rug on top. In the evenings when it was warm and still we even hacked out in the rug (minus the head cover!!). The only time he was parted from his rug was on wildly windy days when I took the opportunity to give the rug a wash...and in the show ring!!!

Another option is Snuggy Hoods sweet itch body and hood. They can also quite happily live in this 24/7, they are breathable and strechy material. www.snuggyhoods.co.ukLexy.
