I have a dartmoor pony (10years old) who goes really well in a hanging snaffle when schooling at home - he is really light and carries himself well. However when we put him in a French link rugby pelham (what he was ridden in at his previous home) for showing he leans really badly in it and then can sometimes get behind the leg. Is there a pelham suitable for showing which doesnt have as much poll pressure? A friend recommended using a waterford pelham, would that be suitable? yes, in know it is severe in the wrong hands but i have been told i have nice light hands Any help is greatly appreciated

My sons 12 hh pony has a waterford pelham and she goes very happily in it. If you have good hands then it wont be severe.
I have a normal NS (nuele schule) pelham in my mare, which she loves. NS do pony waterfords pelhams too.

My daughters are still in First Riddens but also having a go at Small Breeds. We also got the Nueue Schule Performance pony pelham Short shanks to lessen lever effect,we are also using split reins Both ponies really happy in these bits a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion.
