Just read my email from PUK announcing that the winter champs venue will be Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Bucks. There will be just one final, as they say it is situated quite central in the country. Im uselss on geography so i dont know if that is or not . I havent been but sounds like the facilities are good.

No doubt its a good venue but so far South for us! We probably wont go now and dont have to chase qualifiers now!

It is central -in the south of the Country-not too far from London-too far for us to travel-not joining PUK next year.

I wonder why there is only one champs? It seemed easier to have two as it kept everyone happy.

I wonder why it has moved forward to beginning of March? That will mean that there will possibly be more qualifiers in Jan and Feb - lets hope the weather is better than this year otherwise there won't be many ponies qualifying!

typical there was me really looking forward to winter season ,as Southview is only an hour and a bit away. The entries have been good for the past two years there so why the change. Doubt I'll be travelling that far in winter

Nothing wrong with Southview. Nice surfaces, good cafe, plenty of parking. As usual they are looking after the South of England and forgetting us Northerners. Wouldnt fancy coming down from Scotland at the beginning of March, bet thats a hell of a trip!!

We loved having a Northern Winter Champs and it was supposed to be done because they wanted to help the members with travelling costs! We wont be going to Bucks sadly as just too far and too early. We could all still be snowed up here then ! I dont think the South have any idea of the weather we have!!!

WE'VE NEVER BEEN TO P(UK) WINTER CHAMPS BEFORE BUT WERE GOING TO GIVE IT A GO AS WE'VE ALREADY QUALIFIED. DEFO WILL NOT GO NOW. BUCKS CENTRAL - CENTRAL SOUTH METHINKS. AS USUAL NORTHERN FOLK FORGOTTEN - SIGN OF THE TIMES WITH P(UK) I'M AFRAID. ECHO THIS POST - THEY PROBABLY DON'T GET SNOW IN BUCKS AND MUCH OF THE SOUTH. WE HAD 6 FOOT LAST YEAR!!!!!!!!
THINK ORGANISERS HAVE SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT HERE - A LOT OF NORTHERN FOLK WILL FEEL THE SAME. IT WILL SAVE US A PACKET IN ££'S THOUGH AND I'M SURE WE'LL FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO.

We also enjoyed a Northern Champs at Southview - def won't be going now as too far and won't be rejoining Puk either. Shame really as it was something to look forward too after the hard slog of winter.

Not for us as its for def too far away after checking. Wont fancy travelling for miles and limes when theres a chance it will be potentially very cold and wet.
Unfortunately 'She' doesent listen very well so good luck. Whenever i have had to contact her, i come away feeling like i was speaking a different language, she never seems to address the question with a corresponding reply. ;D

Perhaps another chance for Equifest or any other society to sneak in and do one better than PUK.
It is got to the stage the PUK summer championship show is no longer superior to the rest so come on someone take pity on us poor Northerners.

Echo the above, cant Equifest or Royal London etc offer a Winter Show at a more central location. We did Royal London at Rugby, a 4 hour journey which we didnt mind in the summer. Wouldnt fancy going any further South than that in the middle of winter - . Addington would be another hour plus on top of that for us, and there are people a lot further north than us! Im sure if puk needed to go to one champs then they could find another more 'central' location than that! very unfair

Yet again a society has pretty much totally disregarded Scottish and Northern competitors!! I will most certainly not be including P(UK) Winter qualifiers at my 4 winter shows this year then - as I cannot see that any Scottish competitor is going to be interested in going to the winter champs

The facilities look amazing and I'm sure those who make it will have a fantastic time, but why one champs and not the two as planned:( Think its dressage and show jumping for me this winter
