Thought I could count on you guys to give me your honest opinions... ;D
Are there any judges out there that place cremellos??? I have a lovely filly who I resent having in my field just because of her colour so thought if I bring her out (if at all!) I'd better do my homework...

No idea, but I must admit I would be very tempted to find a lovely chestnut stallion and breed myself a palomino! Is she a registered welsh?

Oh no worries there, I have a bay and a cream stallion I can use on her (although she's only a 2yo this time so will be next spring to the bay, fingers crossed for a dun filly!!)
Just think it's a bit of a waste really, if she'd been any other colour she'd be out showing. She's a really quality pony with plenty of bone, moves well, I suppose it's just a case of "suck it and see!"

didnt there used to be a Cremello society? And I am sure I've seen loads of unaffiliated shows that do coloured classes for duns, cremellos etc. But if an A I agree that breeding Palominos sounds a very good idea.

She's a really quality pony with plenty of bone, moves well, I suppose it's just a case of "suck it and see!" Just wondered why you bought her - was it as a show pony or a potential broodmare? ? Showing cremellos I expect would be a bit of a gamble - personally I am not struck on them and can imagine some judges would be the same, however, I am sure there would be judges who would place her and especially if she is a fabulous breed specimine. Some judges are impartial to colour if the pony before them is a very good example of the breed standard. Others I'm afraid are not - I have shown a sec A colt with a lot of white on his face, certain judges did not like him. Trial and error i think if you decide to show.

I actually bought her unseen, as a potential broodmare, because of her breeding and on the merit of the friend I bought her from. Obviously when I saw her I really liked her so was pleased with my buy, but like I said, just seems a bit of a waste just having her in the field when she could be out at a few shows this year before she's covered next year. I've got room for her on the box so might just take her out to a few just to see how she gets on

My mother now owns 'Forlan Welsh Cream' who is a cremello Section A (well actually she is Perlino if being exact which is double dilute black, but looks nearly identical). She did very well showing in her day - although I think that was mostly ridden showing rather than in hand. I would say take your filly out, and if you get put down the line then ask the judge if is because of her colour. If you have space on lorry anyway and going to show, then give it a go ! I know what you mean, I hate it when you feel like you are getting dumped because of colour. Some of the welsh boys do like their bays and blacks and none of these "funny" colours sometimes Lexy.

All horses should be judged on conformation, Type & way of going before any colour id brought into the issue but we all know this doesnt happen and that cremellos are very often overlooked as being spooky, scary, Freaky and sickly, which is not true at all, while i do not own a cremello, i am against prejudice on colour, if a cremello is a good shape and type it should do well, hence we the society are promoting them in all aspects of equestrianism but we need people to support the cremello classes and get shows tohold them, we sent approx 5o requests to shows in 2006 with one being polite enough to reply with a NO, we are self sufficient and everything we make from memberships is ploughed directly back into the society, Affiliation is free for 2007 though maybe a small charge in 2008, if you dont show or get mellos out there rather than hiding them away in the firelds then youare kissing goodbye to the society which is full of cremello lovers trying despratley to support and promote these mystical creatures
