how odd?
There were lots of police around yesterday I noticed, perhaps it would have been worth saying something to them?
I must admitt I always get a little paranoid when i see lone men wondering around. How many little kiddies do you see running around at shows?

Well done for taking his picture, if he is a weirdo, they will have more chance of catching him then and you never know he may be on the records!!! If you ask me, not knowing any one in the class and taking pictures of small children is very very odd!! Maybe try and contact the show?

Thats really strange, I would defently tell someone at the show and that he didnt know anyone in the classes and wasnt a offical photographer i think that just makes it even werider.

As i left on Saturday three policeman had just stopped a photographer, late 20's early 30's slim build, by the main public entrance & were clearly in quite a heated discussion. The photographer had several big lensed cameras & looked the part but obviously the police had reason to be chatting to him.
He was to young & slim to be your guy redmaddi but it makes you think that perhaps the police did take you seriously.

If he was kosher when you approached him I would have thought he would have been more than happy to say who he was and for whom he was working/there on behalf of. you may then tell other people about his magazine or website and want to buy it or his pictures. dont the official photographers need to have some sort of press badge? I remember listening to a similar story on Jeremy Vine show regarding childrens football matches, they dont like people (even parents) taking pictures of the kids, but apparently in a public place, there is no law in place to stop them actually doing so. At the time I heard it I thought, there are lots of tiny and young girls running around showgrounds in tight jods and even tighter bum skimming jackets, i wonder how long it will take there pervs to cotton onto that. Not long it seems. Well done for taking a picture of him, lets hope the police can possibly trace or recognise him and it is'nt some seedy situation. I think perhaps its a message to us all to be aware that there are some very strange folk around and non of us should be complacent. I for one wont hesitate in future to ask - quite stridently - exactly who and why if I see anything I dont like the look of. How very sad and a sorry statement of todays society if we have to think this way.

Spoke to Windsor office on Monday morning and was told someone would call me back, it's now Wednesday afternoon and I've received no calls from them, do you think I should go to my local police station and ask they're advise? I don't think it would hurt - particularly if you can give them your photo. I imagine it's such a sensitive area that they won't necessarily want to disclose details of any investigation but your pic could be important.

I have put my work address on entry forms where addresses are printed in catalogues for all and sundry to read. Any prize money (I should be so lucky) will be posted there. An aquaintance is sure her lorry was nicked and tackroom cleared out after being "clocked" at a county show. They could quite easily have checked their competitor number in the catalogue and then looked up the address and chanced that the lorry and tack was at the address shown for them in the catalogue. It was. Makes you wonder doesn't it??

I always ask that my address is not printed in the catalogue, but I could use my work address, never thought of that

had a similar conversation the other day having been on an official photographer's website and lots of photos of the leadrein kids etc. It is a sad sign of the times. One of my kids was on a school trip to the beach and the teachers had to get the police as a man was videoing the kids. 2 of my girls do gymnastics and a man was taking videos at a comp at the weekend. We have to complete forms at each comp with club name, gymnast name etc to register our cameras but this was being done with a phone.
