I would have sent the pony away with the appropriate amount of feeding to last out the agreed trial period. Especially if he is on a brand of feed not readily available.
If he is on a bog standard brand of feed, then I would be irritated that she had followed out agreed instructions.

I did this let a pony on trial and the same happened and it came back with lamie so go and get the pony back asap, there are a lot of time wasters out there. You are better to let them come and ride the pony every day care for it under your direction.
I would never let a pony out of my site unless it was sold.

Well, surely before they took him they must have known what he was to be fed, I've had to this at times and have rung around and travelled miles to get what was needed. If its like gold dust you order plenty and keep yourself well stocked up, if you are'nt able to do something as elementary as that you are not fit, and it begs the question what else is'nt she able to do?

I made the mistake of letting a pony out on trial, such a waste of time!!! If they are not feeding it what you requested and you are worried go get it back or make them bring it back or buy it!!!

Is it a feed that is particularly difficult to get? If it's not then I would take it that the potential purchaser hasn't taken your agreement seriously and is unlikely to continue the pony on the feed you feel is best in the future.
Obviously it is his/her right to change the diet once the pony belongs to him/her but not prior to that if you have it in writing to the contrary.

he is on baileys w.cubes.and yes it is in writing. then really thats breaking the contract?? i;d go and get him back, never know what the "new" feed could do to him. Either that or get the feed for them? depends on long they have left for the trial... if you're concerned, i'd go and pick him up.
