I rent a 20 acre field in Dwelly Lane, nr Lingfield in Surrey. A couple of nights ago thieves cut my fencing and rolled it back (the fence is stock fencing around the fields boundry) in an attempt to steal my 2 ponies that graze that field. We believe they had been disturbed as two strands were left uncut however the ponies could have escaped out onto the road through what was cut.
On the same night and 5 miles away in another field my friend had her ponies forlock cut off!
We are not sure these are related but be aware.

Lots of tack/shed thefts around the SE at the moment. I had my field fences, stock fence with barbed wire on top, cut in four places fairly recently and the police are inclined to think it was people doing a recce for one of these, walking up through the fields to the house and barn rather then up the drive, but not followed up as I have no accessible tack anyway and outbuildings by the house properly locked, security lights, dogs etc. The next door premises were robbed of power tools earlier this year so could maybe be related. Not after the ponies here as the fence was cut and bent back to allow for human access, not ponies out, and lead onto a very steep bank down onto the road.
