I am going to give The Sof E a miss this year after seeing that E.Briant was judging the m&m lead rein for the second year running! Last year the winning pony which belongs to a well known judge/producer did not deserve to win and I don't believe that was just my thought from the gasp that was heard from the ringside, we were placed further down the line but there were far superior ponies which went better that deserved to win and which were not tanking around the ring! In last weeks H&H I read that this judge/producer gave E.Briant the supreme at Windsor it will be very interesting to see if this pony is entered this year and if E.Briant is brave enough to judge what is put in front of her and not who.

This is why we will not travel down, sick of bent facey judging, amateurs don't get a look in as we have nothing to offer in return for a hoys ticket and surely after judging last year she should not be judging there again!

The flat class competitors are getting out of hand, sour, spiteful and intent on driving out the genuinely nice people in this game. No wonder people don't want to stand for council if they are going to be attacked by those who can't walk straight. Anyone who does any good for PONIES is ridiculed or humiliated whilst those who are out for their own gain push for admiration from the venerable who are often those with less experience who want to rise the ladder of so called "fame" faster. put showing in perspective. No-one outside really cares what we do and if you discussed it with the average person they'd consider you mad or be bored to tears. there are more important things going on in the world than being beaten in the show ring.
The situation is becoming totally ridulous, especially to outsiders looking in. Accept a pony can win on a day, another can win another day, beauty is in the eye of the beholder be it owner or judge. We should all show for the love of wonderful ponies and competition. Winning isn't everything . Most don't win and few cherish memories of victory at HOYS or the Champs in their lifetime. Be prepared to share the glory around and be gracious in defeat. Go forward for judging panels if you think you can do better. Give your time to help your Area, Society & Council before you opt to complain.

I for one will be going to show under Miss Briant. I have always found her to be fair and knowlegable whether I have been placed first or last under her. It is sour nasty and jealous posts like this that make people not want to judge.

Miss Briant is a knowledgeable judge and will be totally fair on the day as she always is. The pony that won last year will have done so its own merit and the owner/leader would have had no influence on the decision made.

I have shown under e briant a few times and yes she is a fair judge providing there are no producers in the ring!!! it will be interesting to see who she favours on the day?
