Hi did they run it today? Went to Stevenage everyone could park on the hard, organisers did fab job. Going was water logged but at least everyone could slosh down into it but then come up out of it. Jayne Webber won small r/horse on one with white socks and res champ to Jo Bates on a Blu chip who won large section. Jo Jenkins won l/w cob and was champ. with a grey and reserve was Nancy Graylen on bay hw winner.

Yeah it ran! It was very wet, although the rings seemed to be holding up, but we only went for the Hunter breeding and came home early, so they may have deteriorated! Managed to drive in, but got towed out!
I felt the entries where very low to start with and then hardly anyone turned up, I can't remember the car park being so empty, does anyone else think the same?

Stevenage today- winner of the small hack qualifier joined the class on the second canter in the go-round. Doesn't this contrevene their rules?

Yes it was quieter than normal - and some of the classes had low entries. Although plenty still in the M&M classes !! Obviously they are a tough lot :-)
There were 10 in the small M&M and 17 in the large M&M ridden classes, and a good number in the Welsh A's and B's in hand too. I did not see the other in hand classes.
However there were some classes with v low entries - like the Working Hunter which only had 7 forward to jump, and 4 clears. Although dont blame them, not sure I would want to jump around decent sized WH course in that rain and v long slippery grass.
We got back home about 5pm, and have spent most of the evening clearing out lorry, putting washing in, hanging up wet clothes & rugs ..... etc. Amazing how much stuff you can get wet in 1 day !!
Bet the weather is lovely tomorrow when I am back to sitting in office ...... sod's law.

Oh and meant to say - we managed to drive in AND out ! But we were parked with nose pointing downhill and towards the exit road, which was quite handy.
Wind & wet worth it though - one of our ponies came 2nd in the youngstock A class, so was v pleased with that. My mother's pony - Floreat Creme Caramel (Sec A yearling colt).

Lexy - That is twice now I've seen you and we have not spoken, I was next to you in the youngstock class with the bay roan colt He hasn't heard a tannoy system before so everytime it went off he was swinging about and what with the awful weather I thought we all did well, shows we are just as hardy as our ponies LOL!!! I also managed to get out without being towed, and didn't even need to put the 4wd on either, although I saw some lorries being towed out with TWO tractors!!

All the results are online here: www.surreycountyshow.co.uk/county_show/results/results.htmIn ridden classes - the smalls was won by the Barr's shetland - Southerly Red Ember (and champion), and the large breeds was won by highland ridden by Jane Wellar and owned by Winser's - Harry. Stacey - ah yours is the colt bred by Sal, right ? Sure we will see each other again ! Do come and say hi, I am usually found riding a big palomino (Mick) or in hand with A's for my mother. I am looking forward to showing the yearling colt more this year, he is such a little character , love him to bits ! Lexy.
