Thanks to organisers Was a bloody horrid day! Wish all shows could have a timetable like theirs...! To anyone who was there and noticed a man taking photos...was he a parent or is he an actuall photogarpher? If so...anyone know a website? He was standing by ring 1 at the time of the riding horse class (4th class in), i didnt hang about there for long as was so wet, so didnt see hime after that?

Hi fjudge, glad you enjoyed it, sort of! It was bl**dy awful weather, we honestly thought about abandoning it half way during the day but with the RIHS qualifers it a bit difficult......
No photographer - they did come but didnt get their stuff out as the weather was so grotty.

rockstar - thanks!! that was me not signed in overbent - yes i do think this is unfair on the other competitors and rules are there to be abided by but i was not entered in the class so not a lot i can do or say as didnt see it. Hope the horse that did get the ticket deserved it after entering late redmaddi - to be honest...no!! sorry! was to preoccupied by staying dry and warm! but he was wearing a coat with a hood that was over his head, but in the conditions, so were most people!! he had a camera and a camera bag on his shoulder. Only noticed him standing by the ring during the 4th class in the 1st ring. He was definately not just taking photos of one horse, which is why i dont think he was with someone there overbent and anyone else who was there - were you competing?

I have no idea as wasnt there but i think the winner was melissa richardson on courtland country ways a very nice horse. Not sure about the coming in late bit but it is the judges decision and they shld be the ones to do something about ie not let them in if this is the rules and on a day like monday cant believe anyone wld want to do it hors concours !! but i believe she came up from 3rd so cld it have been a different one

Thank you for the positive comments about the show. Mum and I spend 10 months of the year organising so it is nice that our efforts (especially in such conditions!) are appreciated.
The situation regarding the Small Hack class is under discussion between the 2nd placed horse and the BSHA so I dont feel able to comment further really. Hopefully it will get sorted to an agreeable conclusion.

This is such an example of judges not knowing their rule books! Such a shame as it leaves everyone with a nasty taste in their mouth. I feel sorry for all involved including the show organisers, who must have enough headaches without this.
In my opinion the responsibility rests with the judge, they sign up to judge under society rules and should know their rule books and be consistent.

I was at the Stevenage show and watched the small hack class. I saw Millimeter was pulled in top, and then the horse that was in 4th or 5th came up to win! Thing is, this horse that won came into the ring after the walk trot and canter Isn't it in the BSHA rules that the class is closed once the horses have trotted? Well the horse that won came in while they were CANTERING for the second time. I honestly thought the judge allowed the horse in the ring to ride Hors Concours as the rider had already been sent off once for arriving with the wrong hat standard and it was her second attempt to enter the ring. As this was a RIHS qualifier i felt well sorry for the other competitors. Makes you wonder why rule books are written in the first place! It would appear from these posts that one person thinks they have qualified and another person thinks that they may have qualified, as it seems that the matter is in the hands of the governing body it is not tasteful to use names etc. think how you would feel if you owned either horse. Just wondered what peeps at HG think about it?
