The Hairy class was absolutley bizarre. the winner Johnsondene was lovely and at end of the day it is all personal taste but surely having producers and Hoys ponies at the end of the line was so wierd as most of them did really nice shows.

Yes shes a looney tune indeed - being a judge myself I dont normally slate other judges as I know it isn't most of the time deserved but I have to say i could not follow her judging one bit when I went under her - erractic is the best word I could describe!

have to say i agree with the last post , i too am a judge and always back my fellow judges, i live across the border and am flabbergast ed that this lady was asked to judge such a big show!!!!!
i would not let her loose to judge a flower show never mind quality ponies, please please can the societies have a look at this site and take heed of what is constructive re judges -- it is too expensive i think we should all go every year for training etc she talks a good game !!!!

Got to agree with the last 2 posts. Recently this judge put a pony first in an open ridden class that napped in the ring. Not just a little nap, it came to as standstill and refused to move at all, so much so that the judge sent the steward over to chase up behind the pony flapping her clipboard at it! Other ponies in the class went foot perfect, stunned wasn't the word to describe what people felt, even the nappy pony's owners were very embarrassed and couldn't believe that they won.

How on earth do judges like this get on to panels and be allowed to judge? So much time, effort and money goes into preparing ponies for shows, travelling, entries etc. and it is sole destroying when you come across a judge such as this.

have to say that madam judge is on the Connie Panel, NPS and PUK ( she is in fact a product of Davina's judging scheme !!!!!!!
Cannot get on BSPS panel thank g-d
this judges has not a clue and bet she charged the show a fair whack as well ( at least willy Turpin wore a mask)
i feel this is were the idea of Senior stewards / judges having a say to the revel ant panels that certain judges should do some more training
any views on that idea ? will get off soapbox now

Have just looked at website results for this show. :-XIs that right that the top 8 in the Hairies class were all Highlands ? . Or am I missing something very obvious?

Post by was there on Jun 4, 2007 13:51:57 GMT
Hello Oldie, yes the top 8 were all highlands - the class mainly comprised highland ponies, with maybe one fell and one dales, but these left the ring before the final placings were given.

We were under her in a Scottish show recently(the one that the pony napped at and the steward chased it) try explaining the result to a confused 12 year old asking what they had done wrong to be 2nd to it!

Well what should we do with this feeble judge ? i feel she should be made to justify her placings am all in favour of a mike in the ring she is on a fair few committee's up here and I DO KNOW that some members of the NPS read this site !
i really really hope that the major shows take heed and do not ask her to judge !!
but i bet you all a fiver that she will either judge HOYS or Olimpia soon !!!!!

I wish I had known all this last week - then I would have stayed at home and not wasted time and money bothering to go. Thank goodness for websites such as this though, because hopefully it will save other people from wasting time and money in the future because they will not bother to enter under Mrs Claxton.

You lot really are a bit bizarre, you whinge like anything when the producers win all the time, then whinge when they don't win!! Is anything right for you all or is it just a case of you'll find something to moan on about from every situation?!
