Doea anyone know if/how we could get a copy of the marks sheet? It was taking SO long for them to get them on the board we had a 4 hour journey ahead of us and couldnt wait in the heat any longer.

Any Picton and Heritage conni results ? Watched all the trad / native coloured classes ...first of all ride judge did not know the rules as the steward came to the edge of ring asking for a rule book as when a horse unfortunately slipped over she wasnt sure if they could re mount or had to leave the ring!! ( surely if you are judging a HOYS qual you would have one with you or know the rules? ? ).in the large trad/ native ,the one second was naughty and hot on go round but did seem to give her a good ride ( maybe she had forgotten it was naughty on go round ...but then no marks for initial go round is there ?. )She cantered at least one (including my friends )on the wrong leg for about 5/6 strides before she noticed and seemed intent on wizzing them round in little figures of eight during the ride and attempting to extend up the middle in front of line up and past flower display ...! Hmmm ! Thought the smalls was v big class some v nice ponies in the final line up , the one that won has already qual so it went to second ..well done sarah and Jen !, but seems a shame to only pull a final six forward when it is such a big class .

Glad some other people agree with me. Remind me never to go under her, don't even know if she is on any other panels but hmmmmmm. Definitely one to avoid.
Line ups were odd! But some horses I agreed with. I don't know what she liked.
I seem to remember reading this after the BSPS restricted coloured classes too, when she was judging...
Rockstar you could try giving the show organisers a ring. Who wasthe photographer in attendance?

Will give the sec a ring in a couple of days when they have recovered a bit. Ride judge is doing another HOYS qualifier at CHAPS champs but Conformation there - could be interesting!!

not sure what the b was called but in my opinion did not deserve to be champion. i honestly thaught the championship would go to the connie with the fell reserve- but hey thats showing!

im afraid i'd have to disagree with you 'picton', i thought the B put a lovely performance in the championship, and deserved to be either champion or reserve.
The connie went lovely as did the fell, to be honest, i thought the classes were judged really well and some good ponys were put forward.

Can anyone tell me what time the Picton section finally started? On the schedule it was said to be 'not before 12.00h' which somewhat misled us! We had a pony entered but since it looked liked being very late,we had to leave without competing. Will have to fight another day!

Think it finally started about 4pm Most must have hung on for it as numbers in the ring just about matched the catalogue entries.

I think that the supreme went in straight after the picton championship and i think that was around half 6 or so ive been told.
dont quote me, but i think the supreme was taken by the show pony champion, and the reserve supreme was, the picton champion. But i could be wrong!
hope that helps

We got a phone call to say that the palomino championship went in about 4.00pm and after that I think were 3 arab classes plus champs before the Pictons started! We were looking at the new forest/connie section which was third Picton. Anyway, looking to the Northern Horse Show now for next Pictions which fortunately are first thing in the morning!

why was there an up roar with the coloured judges. it was scortching hot and they had them in the ring for ages. i dont think they could have had a better look at the line up. there were some cracking ponies at the end of the day its what they would like to take home with them.

there were some cracking ponies at the end Exactly. Cracking ponies at the end. THE WRONG END!! TBH I dont think 30+ ponies get a proper judgement anyway.

well it depends which end of the line your pony is. its a 'competition' , and its tough. everyone knows exactly how large the coloured classes are before they buy a coloured. at the royal welsh there can be over 70 in the mnm hoys classes. a percentage of the class are good, percentage are average realistically not your hoys winners and a percentage of the class are dreamers. i dont get why this industry is so bit*hy. its a sport, the best athletes have bad days. so did milton ! its so boring all this moaning theres plenty more qualifiers left. it s meant to be fun
