my friend has just brought pony, it has hardly any history, apart from it says its first owner/breeder was blackboy stud!
does anyone know anything about this stud? or if they have a website etc?

It was not a stud but a dealers yard run by John and Ruth Gardiner. They have now split and the place sold. They both still deal horses. Ruth has just bought a yard in newbury - something growers - they run lots of shows there. I have a phone number for Ruth if you pm me but they def didnt breed. Reason I know her is she came on my yard for a few months with her horses - never again. Nearly all their horses came direct from Ireland or from a dealer in Essex so not sure yourll get much joy but worth trying. If Ruth knows anything about your friends horse I am sure she will tell you.

They split up and Ruth has bought Hempsted Growers centre in newbury. Only known her to breed a couple of horses for own use - didnt think they were there 14 years ago.

Blackboys Stud was run by a man named Geoff and he was certainly there in 1995/1996 as he used to breed welsh cobs and his prefix was Kruger. Hope this helps. Try tracing via prefix through WP&CS.

I have just recently got a mare in my care who I don't know much about her history but on her passport was black boys stud. She's around 19/20 years of age. Just wondered how I could be able to get hold of anyone who would know about her breeding.
