What would you like to see on an equestrian classifieds website as a buyer and a seller?
What makes you choose that website to advertise on or go to browse?
Thanks ;D

Buying wise : More than often when people invest in a horse they know exactely what they are looking for so do not want to spend hours trailing through pages of horses that aren't suitable for their needs/abilities Also before you click the link to the horse you like the look of I want full specs i.e. Age, Price, S*x, suitability etc and an opening to draw you in....also what I think would be a good idea if there was some kind of stasus such as Novice or advanced so people can tell if they have the ability to even ride said horse. Advertiser wise: Personally I would go for the site with the highest hits on it, I personally wouldn't advertise with a new horse sales site unless I could see it was really well advertised with it's target audience. Apart from that I would want choices of adverts such as a premium ad, variable prices on size of ad's, no word or picture limit, video upload and also pay a little extra to 'bump' up advert if not sold by a few weeks More than often to chose a site I just literally google horses for sale surrey or whatever. So getting to the top of google would be down to the owner / developer of the site.

Thanks honeybees, some good points there.
When I set the website up I included all of the specs you mentioned such as rider suitability, gender, breeding, age etc. I would like to have included many more questions for the seller to answer and help buyers decide to make further enquiries but I didn't want to advert to be a chore to fill in or read a book. So I hope the 'tools' I have created will be to the point and help people market their horse effectively.
I was considering setting up a competition/showing results field so it stands out from the main body of the advert. What do people think about this?
I know you mean about new websites not getting the hits like the main ones, however new or lesser known websites are generally free (mine is) so it does not cost anything and your horse is still being advertised. And I'm busy working on my search engine results and I'm most definitely targetting my audience and helping sellers promote their sales!
Different size ads is worth considering but as far as I am aware all classified websites I've seen all offer the same size advert so I don't know how much of a development issue that is.
Anyway back to editing, thanks for your input. If you want to view my website and tell me what you think so far, I've posted a link in the business thread.
