Are you meaning hoys classes, or in general?
If you mean in general, normally you follow the dress code of the 'type' you are riding, eg. tweed for native/traditional type etc and navy for show pony/hack type etc. Thats what I was told anyway ;D

I always thought it was hats before evening anyway??? Dark jackets, stocks in the evening and ties during the day but im probably too long in tooth and Wembley days anyway..Oh bring back the concrete...................:-)but sad as no coloureds then so some things do change for the better

Thanks Soph we would also love Lacey to win she is going in foal next year. Sarah will wear what she always wears on a normal show day. Blue jacket and her patey in the plaited pony class, and her tweed jacket and patey in Lacey's class.

I think a lot changed in the late 90's and they introduced a lot more classes! It was around that time that they introduced the m&m flats, can you imagine hoys now with now m&m flats and no coloureds? And they've only just added the lr show hunters in the last few years which was well over due a class there! HOYS is just getting bigger and better every year! I can't wait to go! Good luck everyone and I agree with usual wear in the day time and then top hats and stocks for evening! And I love cassius too, he is beautifull! :-)

At HOYS it tends to be the classes which are completed in two sections (i.e. the top 10 hunters/small hunters etc are called through to a separate "finals" performance) then they start in tweed and go navy in the finals. For classes that are done and dusted with placings done in one class , then it tends to be navy jackets and pateys/top hats and stocks - depending on what you prefer.
Has been like that at wembley - not a recent change!
