Well i lost Fern my sheep dog all of a sudden last month at a fit 9 years old and last night her daughter Jazz got hit by a car having run off whilst i was feeding the horses, couldnt find her last night and after numerous calls to the council today found she had been hit last night on the main road, fortunatley a passer by picked her up and took her to as it happened my vets and at 2.30 today eventually found out that she was being taken to a rescue centre, had them bring her straight home, in one hell of a mess, her back hock has been totally shattered and is bandaged up to hold it all in place, she has to go back on Monday for change of bandage, and once flesh has grown back will be going in for to a specialist vet for an op to pin everything. Going to cost me a fortune but at least i know she is alive and with me.

Poor Jazz...... glad you found out in time where she had been taken?
is she not chipped? if she had been the vet could have scanned her and phoned you.. not having a go, just pointing out you could have found out quicker....
Hope Jazz recovers quickly and without too much pain xx

She had bandages changed yesterday and vet said the flesh was healing well, doing bandages again on Thursday and if still improving then looking to op next week. Got my other 2 microchipped but never got around to doing her, she will be done after the op though

Glad she is doing ok. My old dog got run over when he was 2 and was only given a 50 / 50 chance of survival. He had numerous injuries including a broken tail and nearly ripping his ear off. He had a drain in his head for many weeks to drain the fluid. He also had a big wound on his side probably about 8 inches round where he was dragged up the road. This was just proud flesh and afterwards it healed and was just a small part that had no fur. He pulled though and we had a further 11 fantastic happy years with him. With the right care, she will hopefully have plenty of happy years ahead.
