Not the cheapest but the one my vet suggested as being the best for my new pup was M & S, they cover lifetime cover, unlike most others plus good limits on treatment x

I don't do insurance. Millie has a bank account, and we transfer £15 a month by a direct debit (the price her insurance would have cost), she has about £700 in there at the moment, hopefully that would cover a nice chunk of vet fees, but obviously as she gets older and is more likely to have a larger bill the cash will have built up more. Obviously you take the chance that in the early years the money won't be enough to cover things, but as they get older you haven't got to worry about whether the insurance will pay out, and if you don't use the money it's still yours!

pet plan, lifetime cover and vets will allow them to pay rather than you paying and then claiming. Have been with them for years many claims, no problems.

Petplan for me, never had any probs with them. Other half's mum has 3 dogs all insured with different companies, nothing but problems with them...........M&S, E&L (by far the worst, took ages to pay!!) and Sainsburys

Lifetime cover is when the animal is covered for any injury/illness for life. Usually there is a limit on the amount the insurance will pay out per year though. So for example if a dog has diabeties then the ins company would pay out for that condition for the rest of the dogs life. Some companies only pay out for 12 months then your left to pay for the rest of the treatment for the rest of the dogs life. Hope that makes sense

Don't know about cheapest but I was speaking with a client at work today and her insurance for an 8yr old OESD is £60 per month That's with Argos and she said her premiums have shot up because they changed the underwriter but as the dog is 8 and has an on going medical condition no-one else will touch it so she has no choice.

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

M+S - pricey but good. E+L - forget it
you really need to think about what you want. Life time cover is exactly what it says on the tin so if your pooch develops for example diabetes, they will pay for her treatment for life... but it costs more. A lot of companies do life time now. google and check out what companies covers what.
KJM - before I lost My lovely Bollinger, I was paying £1500 a year for her cover with M+S
Cheap is not always the best...
