Just got back from HOYS......

I spent all day Thursday more excited than a kid at Christmas (I'm not young, I'm 30 years old lol) that i would be spending my usual Friday at HOYS watching the coloureds, and once again i wasn't disappointed ;D

I have to say that Andrew Collins really is fab and after watching him judge the coloureds i respect him even more, i was so happy to see that he didn't necessarily put the faces first!!! I am still quite new to horses and ride judges and the only time so far i have had a judge ride my horse she was blatantly facey....so it was good to see, defiantly re-assures you that there are fair judges out there

Andrew helped me out at Cheshire when my pig of boy just would not load......he could of just drove off like most to get his horses bedded down and got home to a warm, dry house! What a genuinely lovely guy.

But i also have to say how much i love the Humdinger and Jane webber....she defo had to go for the hat-trick this year, she had some tough competition this year too but that did not stop the Humdinger being the super start that he is. He really should retire this year and finish on a high but dont think i could honestly live without that fab horse galloping down the spot light ever again, so i kinda hope she dosnt retire him

And the way that Jane is with her horses puts a huge smile on my face......the fact that she is such a huge producer but treats her horses like they are her pride and joy. So lovely to see.....i even watched her hugging humdinger and stroking him just before she stood him up for his confirmation she even gave him a cheeky kiss on his nose

All over now for another year, cant wait for 2012 x

Agree, love HOYS!! Who doesn't?! We went Friday, & watched the coloureds & show ponies, both judged fantastically.

Have to agree with what you say about Jayne Webber - a lot of the producers appear to just see their horses as rosette machines, but Jayne always seems to think the world of hers, no matter where they get placed.

watched the maxi cobs today, and thought that the ride judge did a fantastic job, every horse went really well for her, lovely to watch.

I loved it it only my second time going and I watched the search for a star and the other classes on the Thursday and it is all judged so well. I also love thr fact the judges say what they are thinking, it makes it a lot more interesting and helps other to learn x

Hi I wanted to echo what people say about Jayne Webber - she rode my boy for me at Hoys and will ride again for me next year. I love her!

Jayne is a very good rider, when we have seen her, she never fights with the horses, she and the horse look in harmony with one another,

We have just got back from Hoys , had a fantastic week , my 2 didnt let me down and it was lovely to see so many fabulous horses and ponies! Cant wait for next year now!!

Just heard that jane has got supreme on comberton clancy. So happy for her she really is a great role model, let's hope youngsters in this sport grow up to be as she is with there horses, love it when nice people do well. I just wish she was nearer to me then she would defo have my boy at her yard. Well done jane xx

When they interviewed Simon Reynolds when he won the Maxi Cob clss he did say that one of his horses had died the night before - but I didn't get the impression it was whilst the horse was at HOYS.

The only thing I was dissapointed with this year at HOYS was the lack of hairys in the overs coloured class..
I really do hope CHAPS do something re the the qualifiying classes being split next year..
However was very impressed with the judging.
