Great hoys, one grumble...ignorant, rude, antisocial people that can't take their rubbish, including plates of chips and baked potatoes, etc to the bin and expect other people to pick it up and fellow competitors to sit amongst their rubbish! What's wrong with people!

i completely agree with you!! And why do they leave unfinished cups of coffee under the seats so you then kick it over and then cant put any bags down because they will get covered in it.Plenty of bins - people are just to idle to use them

This upset me too. Seemed worse than last year despite rubbish bags hanging from the barriers. Inconsiderate, selfish behaviour.

100% agree, we had to climb over plates of half eaten food to get to the seats that were free, and as you say there were plenty of rubbish bags, even had to walk past them on the way out of the seating area!

Oh - you were lucky, believe me.
Just before we went into the pre judging for the supreme in the Caldene (where the mini SPs had been on all afternoon), we went to stand in the left hand side "holding" area in the collecting ring. The entire edge of the arena was absolutely COVERED in plates of chips, bottles, cups, forks - you name it, it was there.
I had been there on Friday during the coloured classes, and the whole place was pristine - you could put your belongings on the floor, safe in the knowledge that you were not going to get them covered in ketchup.
I am not exaggerating - it was totally unacceptable - and clearly competitors who just could not be bothered to clear up anything themselves. For goodness sake - what on earth are their houses like if they feel it is acceptable just to throw unwanted food on the floor of an area which is meant to be where you get your horse ready to go into the ring at Horse of the Year Show. Yuk.

I had paid near on £100 for my seats in the main arena to have some drunken woman accidentally poor a bottle of beer all down my back and all over my things- she just sat there and said sorry- not offer to help clear the mess or swap seats with me!!!!

its the way the world is now people expect other people to do things for them, never take any responsibility for their actions, they think they paid for their seat they do what the hell they like! they have no self respect how sad are they!!

I am so relieved that I am not the only one who gets really upset by this. We used to go to Hickstead in the 70s and we never saw rubbish anywhere. Now it is knee deep. At the BSPS champs they ask people not to mix string and rubbish with the mucking out but nothing happens - disgusting!

At the CHAPS champs at Arena UK there was no facility to separate rubbish from the muck heap. No bins in the lorry parking/stable area. What do they expect? If they provide bins people will use them. OK if you're there for a day you can bag your rubbish and take it home, but not if your staying for the week.

We did the second days at a couple of county shows and the lorry park/warm up areas were full of rubbish - at Edenbridge and Oxted the warm up area was really messy probably where lorries had been parked the previous day. There was an empty show gloss aerosol, cans, etc. Somewhat dangerous if a horse stood on one.

Agree, it was awful. There were plenty of bins & rubbish bags! I know what you mean about the collecting ring we went round the side, & the whole collecting ring was full of paper plates, etc... & people complain about health & safety!!

I also had the unfortunate pleasure of standing in someone's plate of unwanted chips - tomato ketchup included. Delightful!!!
