i heard a few things about horses being naughty and getting through to the night when other horses had been good.
surly the horses manner count for something? or actually staying on the horse during the class.

Yes manners do play some part but not everything, may-be the others were more to breed type then you will forgive them some exuberance, not having been their I can not comment, if the ponies were out of control and likely to be a danger to others then I would of thought that the judge would of asked them to leave the ring, or that thats what I would do.

he was grey with 4 black legs.yep true at least someone agrees lol.x that was your problem then, you had the wrong coloured horse, if you watched her judge all day she placed blacks/bays at the top of the line everytime, I was in the section D inhand classed and whitnessed it first hand, top 10 were all black and then bay, then the 5 chestnuts that were left were unplaced, it was quite funny that she made it so obvious really, the other classes I watched were exactly the same

was it a youngstock class? if yes, conformation is more important and behaviour should kind of be excused
if not.... OMG!!!

No it was inhand M&M, the judge on sunday took no notice of manners or behaviour, she based most of her decisions on colour, I watched most of her classes and the way some of the horses/ponies behaved was really bad but she still placed them high up the line

Yep did you watch the M&M large breeds excluding welsh.x # I certainly did I was also in the shetland inhand class, where a shetland that wouldn;t trot out and spent most of the time rearing up was placed in the top 5 As I say I just ended up laughing in the end because it was so obvious, if you look at the photos on the photographers website you can see its so obvious

I dont think that inhand should be judged on manners inhand is for like the best of breed, type, straighness, quality.
if it was a handler class.... then i could understand....
The inhand results were no different to at other shows all winners worthy ones. Dont know how you can call the judge.
God dont go to proper breed inhand shows! or arab shows you'd be mortified!!!!!!!

Breed classes should ultimately be judged on breed type and descriptions. On a whole temperament, unless an obvious nasty temperament, is somewhat over looked as breed type is paramount. Yes its not ideal that the steering on the pony is far from perfect but if it s agood example of its breed then its pretty irrelevant in a breed class. I was not at this show but generally the Black and very dark Bay cobs are a different type to the other colours so could well be what the judge preferred in type rather than colour being the only factor. There is a very distinctive type of dark bay cob that is far more substantial and close to the floor like the old Cardigan Cobs. Just because she was potentially consistent in her judging and it may not be to you liking doesn't automatically mean she is bent. Which photographer was it please so we can have a look.

well had a quick look at the cobs and can't see where the problem is, there did not seem to be many chestnuts and the ones that there were seem to be of a type, not the same as the darker horses,

A hip flask in your basket is also a brilliant addition to the showing kit, far more beneficial than an oiley rag and tastes even better than Cowboy Magic poop stain remover in a crisis!!! sod the hip flask, i'll have a bottle of wine in my basket! its good for celebrating a win or drowning my sorrows! LOL

wot colour was the shetland ur talking about? because i watched that class and everythin that got placed deserved its placing, is this a case of sore loser? debbie gregson is a good judge and does not have a certain colour she goes for true to type and no i dont no her personelly i have been judged by her several times.

I was in that class Carinsvictor, and there were two greys and a pale dun that all got in the top 10. The bay New forest I think your on about didn't get in the top 10. Isn't Debbie a hunter judge? The winner of the class was most certainly worthy Well done to whoever that was

its a shame many people feel the need to slate judges on an open forum, many of these judges do it for the love of horses and often go unpaid.... i think for those of you that believe this is an easy task go and see if you can get on a panel.. put your money where your mouth is. Its just a display of terrible sportsmanship.......

every one is entitled to the freedom of speach, and i think this is why they have a forum for moaning.
