It is with great sadness I heard the news that Tafarnaubach Sian aged 26yrs passed away yesterday. Purchased by John and Betty Collorick from a foal straight off the hill from her breeder Glyn Watkins. Sian was a great show filly a real old fachioned pony with bone and feather and a leg in each corner and a fantastic mover. Sian had a great career in the showring being placed 2nd at the Royal Welsh in 1987 and went on to win many championships at County Shows.
Sian has bred 11 fillies and 5 colts including the show mare Glenwood Sian who I was lucky enough to own for 6yrs and won my first medal with and now at the Beros Stud, also Glenwood Siarl who has sired some lovely show stock for Friars Stud, another outstanding pony is Glenwood Sionyn that was sold at Fayre Oaks in 2010 for top price of £11,000 and is now having a great showing career undersaddle. The last foal out of Sian Glenwood Sapphire is jointly owned by Sharon Mclagan and Sandy Goodwin of the Tamevalley Stud and has already had great success in the ring in her first year.
I know she will be very sadly missed by her owners and many other people who admired her.
