I've got a Staffie, she's 7 years old now and I rehomed her at 18 months. She was very demanding through attention seeking and I spent a lot of time training her, both at home and training classes. I taught her a whole load of tricks, using a clicker. That helped loads with the attention seeking because she then started thinking of ways to get rewarded by "performing" a trick to get a bit of fuss. A few weeks ago, I noticed she had a slight limp. I couldn't find anything wrong, and it appeared and disappeared on and off. Tonight, I've just sussed her "limp" ! We were eating dinner so Missy came over, "limping". I ignored her as I've taught her not to beg. The "limp" vanished and she immediately tried another "trick". She lay on the floor with her head down, not looking at us. Yes, she got a small piece of chicken for not begging, but I've sussed that her "limp" is one of the many "tricks" she thinks up (she's very inventive), to get attention or food treats ! ;D

She has indeed, lol ! It works both ways though, because I have arthritis and she picks things up for me when I ask her to. Things like keys, my trainers, dropped coins, my purse and loads, loads more. She will even bring me a drink (a 500ml bottle) when I ask her. It wasn't till tonight I realised her "limp" was a new trick she has decided to use

She is a clever girl and a great companion for you,so i expect it is a little difficult to ignore her "limp"I think we can tend to forget just how intelligent they are

Hehe ! Missy just trotted along the hallway, trotted back and touched me with her nose. Then she went into the kitchen and touched "her" cupboard with her paw ;D. She gets a Pedigree Dentastick after her last pee before bedtime ;D "Her" cupboard contains her food and treats
