If he looks small to you as a hunter he will never do well in hunter classes. He looks more like a maxi cob to me. How old is he - he does look lovely. Would hate to see him hogged though :-) Just plait him with tidy plaits and put him in the cob class and see what they say. Will soon tell you he should be hogged or he is not a cob!

I personally don't think he looks like a cob type, he's not square enough.. though, if you worked on muscling his neck up a lot he might look like one, I'm no expert! He has got good bone, but I think it is the length of back which makes him look more like a hunter though with more topline and built up neck this may well balance out. I would probably do as wilbs says, take him into some maxi cob classes plaited and just ask judges what they think.

Have you hogged him? Body is looking good but topline on neck needs some strapping to get him to look more cob like.

I think his body does look more cobbish in the recent photo, and his legs look a more cobby proportion too, rather than hunter. but agree with titch he needs more topline on his neck.
If you have hogged him, have a go at the maxi cob classes and ask whether they think he is more a hunter. You'd only have to let his mane grow out over winter before doing hunter classes.
