Maybe a silly question, but when worming dogs do you need to change the type of wormer each time your dog is wormed, so that it covers each type of worm? Does anyone have a guideline to follow?

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.

no, not really.. but use the ones from the vets not the rubbish you can buy in shops. You can also buy online which I find cheaper. Drontal and panacur are the most common sort and do not under dose. If your woofers are out door types and scavenge, then work=m more often that every 3 months.
Also be aware of lung worm in dogs which is spread by slugs and snails. It is getting more common in the UK, but you need to treat monthly for this - its Advocate

Milbemax is also a fantastic product, you can give it once a month to prevent lung worm, or once a week to cure lung worm. Speak with your vet. Tell tales signs that your dog needs worming: increased appetite, dragging the bum along the floor, loss of hair around the eyes, knibbling at the feet, unexplained sickness....... Give your vet a call if you are worried, advice is free, don't waste your money on the supermarket wormers, all your doing is (falsely) buying peace of mind. Your vet will be able to provide you with info, weight and this should be free, a nurse can advise, or even a receptionist can ask the vet for you, saving you a consult fee. Dogs are not the same as horses.......yet, but we must worm to the correct weight so that resistance doesn't form.

Milbemax does not treat or prevent lungworm. As far as I know the only product licensed in the UK for this is Advocate as mentioned above

Milbemax isn't licenced to kill lungworm but if used monthly is thought to be 85% effective against contracting it. As said above Advocate is the only product licenced to erradicate it. Alternatively don't let your dog eat snails or slugs!!!
