I wonder if we could get away with wearing Topshop boots in the show ring?!
I have a lovely Joules jacket (Barbour-esque) that i got for my bday a few years ago, I have left it at home because my mum keeps stealing it to wear it out doing the horses in, think i might bring it back to uni with me as its now back in fashion!

I've noticed this too! I always wear my River Boots & leg warmers to shops & I've worn them to school, Alton Towers & town. I've been saying for ages now "River Boots, leg warmers & jodpurs will soon come into fashion outside of the horsey world" Non uniform day for CIN comes & hey presto! Everyone is wearing leg warmers, River Boot type boots & jodpurs!

Oh & the polo clothing! Loads of people wear it now & usually buy it for a ridiculous price. I just say "I was wearing them before I could walk!"

River Island sell boots that are exactly like riding boots and also have spurs on them.
I wear my Barbour jacket to college and also my River Island jodphur style leggings, they are super comfy and handy for when i ride in my lunch break!

So will next years winter fashion be thick padded waterproofs that are splattered in mud, welly boots, a big thick jacket - complete with pockets full of hay and dear stalker hats because they are the warmest?
PLease tell me it will be!

It seems to be increasingly popular. Tweed, look a like jodphur boots, jodphurs etc. All for very expensive prices, what people forget is that people like us can get that stuff so much cheaper, actually use it, and do our horsey chores in them...... :/

It gets confusing when in Asda, I keep thinking everyone is horsey and then I notice that they are clean and I am not. lol. It's a bit sad isn't it, 'get your own hobby' lol

I completly agree with this thread ... my cousin and aunt are prime examples ... Mum was wearing her old tatty joules hoody and joules gillet when aunt come over looks her up and down 'oh your wearing joules .... Amy(the cousin) wears joules she gets it from harrods!!!!! mums answer was Well Kate has been wearing it for years love and she certernlly doesnt get it from harrods she gets it from the tack shop ! my aunt was very confused until explained that it wasnt high end designer and it was infact horsey fashion!!!!!! Amy now has full joules wardrobe, including quilted jacket .... She works for a record company in LONDON not a horse in sight oh and dont forget the hunters and welly warmers !!!

In the curry house last night, a family walks in, dad wearing a barbour blue quilted jacket, mum wearing a red jacket, daughter wearing fake barbour, hunter wellies with furry boot tops and son wearing flat cap, dealer boots and a tweed jacket. All of the above spotlessly clean and probably never been near a field or animal. Wonder if they spilt curry down themselves

But isn't it lovely to be walking through top shop etc thinking my tweed jacket is a million times nicer and better cut! Never have the money to be "on trend" but we are one up this time! Though I did have a friend find my old blue tweed jacket in the back of my cupboard and say how lovely it is, and why don't I wear it out? She obviously hasn't a clue - Green is the "in" tweed in the horsey world :L

Saw a lady in the docs the other day - dressed in smart office wear with heels and a blue quilted Barbour jacket. Frankly, she looked ridiculous.....
