Hi there. 11 weeks old is too soon to start 'serious' training. Although it can be done, they can often get bored and soured if started too young. We don't start ours in 'proper' training until they're 9 months old ish. The best thing to do is to establish the important things that are needed as a basis for being a growed up gundog! 'Sit', 'Stay' 'lie down' 'here' Once these are in place so that it's perfect nearly every time, actual 'gundog' training is far easier. Also, don't do 'too' much retrieving, and never wrestle anything out of your dog's mouth if they don't give it up willingly as it can result in a hard mouthed dog (ie they are more likely to chomp on a bird when picking up later in life) If you want any more help don't hesitate to drop me a pm Modified for dreadful spelling!

Echo this 11 weeks is far too young to start 'gundog' training. Use these first few months concentrating on the basics: 100% recall response, sit, stay and heel work. Not all cockers are natural retrievers, so I would do some retrieve work but definitely not over do it and also don't start any 'steadiness' to thrown retrieves until much later on
