Ints interesting !! might have helped if the judge had watched the shows!! apparently she was not well , - a lovely lady BUT------ Chloesmum call me!! Ints in the morning also interesting. we don't usually moan but it was an interesting day, perhaps just to say decisions were difficult to follow with the exception of both hoys winners, who fully deserved the classes, well done team Harvey and Sadie.

would love to see irt marks also!! i really believe that if marks are used, then everyone should just line up, not in order, as sometimes it is easy to see that the marks just follow the pull in, ie 58 for first to work, 57 for second, 56 for third etc etc. totally regardless of napping , wrong legs, disunited at canter extensions, unlevelness, - i could go on and on- . if a judge gives a set show, sometimes quite complicated, but then seems to totally disregard the horses ability to perform it, it is rather pointless. I am not talking particularly about yesterday afternoon, but perhaps it relates to the mornings class, but really in general.

I think it is unfair with one judge, it seemed that a higher conf mark was given to a horse that had been given a high show mark, regardless of whether it did a good show or had correct conformation. It seemed that a conf mark was only written down after conferring what that horses show mark was. I dont think the int's were penalised enough for napping, change of leg, etc etc and the ones that did do a canter serpentine, rein back etc didnt get rewarded for it.

bushnut, quite agree with you, however, in the morning, a long set show was asked for with 20 metre circle, serpentine at canter etc and was then TOTALLY disregarded, in the whole class only two worked well and consistently, with everything else either napping, disuniting, wrong legs, dreadful transitions to halt and then up to canter (asked for) in middle of serpentine.etc etc. i saw the marks and as i said before they just went consistently down from the top with , i think, 2 exceptions. it was the most disappointing judging i have seen all season. In the rule book, 60 marks are given for performance and way of going. i would have thought that the majority of those have to be awarded, (or not!) for the individual show, as with 15 in the class, mostly bay and brown, to award a large proportion on the go round is absolutely impossible, even if the judge had eyes in the back of his head. i think when judging a large class , at the best you notice things that are awfully behaved and things that are stunning. sometimes there is a lot of mediocrity on the ring, difficult to pull in a precise order, and their true colours only show up in the individual show. thats why i think things should be called in ,in any order and then judged fairly, and good INDIVIDUAL work should be rewarded.

Thank you Team traveller and Cloesmum, we are thrilled and I think Tilly's face said it all when she realised that she had qualified Both Tilly and Missie have worked very hard and they throughly deserve to get their ticket. We stopped off at Tesco express on the way home to get Missie one of her favorite Raspberry buns .
