Which do i get..?
I already have a barnsby dressage which i love!, but jumping in this isnt ideal!
I have never jumped in a "proper" jump saddle but want to get into jumping a lot more! But im still confused as to what would be best, GP saddle or jump!!!
Mabey a silly question but if you dont ask.................. ;D

I'd have a saddler come out and then you can try both and see whcih you prefer. I hate Jumping saddles, they're too forward cut for me so I jump in a GP. Others hate GP and will only jump in Jumping saddles. So do try them out before you buy! ;D

I suppose a GP is good for most purposes whereas if you feel uncomfortable riding in the SJ'ing saddle you've got to stick to it for jumping!

Why don't you try a couple and then look for the one(s) you like online? Saddles Direct let you try upto 3 saddles for £15 and then you just return them. I'm sure there'd be somewhere near you that does things like that.

GP it feels more secure to me, have jumped in a dressage and I didn't like it at all felt really unsafe.

Close contact saddle vote here. Just prefer them, but then it's indivdual to you and your horse Also what you prefer really. If you don't jump alot I would go for a GP

I much prefer a GP, if I was going to totally concentrate on jumping, I my force myself to get used to a pure SJ close contact. The only one I did try once was a Jaguar close contact, I did actually love it, but my only concern was that I felt it pushed me into a position rather than allowing me to find my own which I prefer, simply because I feel if I need to shift my position to what I feel happening under me, I dont want a saddle that does'nt allow me that freedom, as it happened it did'nt fit my horse particularly well, and I went back to my tried and trusted Falcon Event (currently at 30 years old and still in my tackroom). It comes down to personal preference, and I prefer the roomier find your own balance but I'll do my best for you type of GP.

Bought a GP!!! They were down from over £500 to just under £200....... would have been rude not to get one!
