To go with Jet my GSD have now got a JR/Chihuahua. Dont know if i spelt it right, thought she might be able to sort out the rat problem i got! Saying that though the rats are probably bigger than her. Havent named her yet, she 10months old and been passed around so got a permanent home with me.

Drove to the yard last night and saw the funniest thing, an adult fox being chased by this little dog who was barking like mad as she was running, oh it was so funny laughing now. Since i got her i kept her in for 2 days and then let her loose, havent been able to catch the bugger since but am sure there are no rats now, she a real terrorist.

Would love to see pics.
My Collie is a wuss, he tries to creep up on baby bunnies, even though he is the largest heaviest footed collie you ever saw. The only thing he wants to chase is cats, wish I could find one that would stand up to him. He seems to consider them like ground squirrels.
He sits for hours looking up into trees waiting for a squirrel to fall down.
My friend's Parsons JR is another matter, there would be no bunnies, rats, mice or even sparrows in our stables if Jessie could stay for a week or two.
On the other hand, Robbie the collie is quite ok with thunder, lightening and fireworks, but Jessie, is a nervous wreck.

Yes, we get the looking up into the trees for squirrels thing too with our half collie. Our favourite barn cat had the collies and cockers under control, and would come into the house too, but this half collie, sire a travellers saluki lurcher had the cat sussed, he was straight under the car and kept to the yard after that. And rescue saluki would give them no chance - when we first got him he shot after yard cat into the yard, chased him down the length of the barn, over a 6' wall and I expected to meet him coming back up with cat in mouth but wisely the cat had gone to ground under a pile of old jumps and logs waiting to be cut up so that the much bigger dog couldn't reach him.
Our cockers have had a rat or two over the years, and a couple of pheasants - although I think she chased them into the fence rather than actually caught those. They've all had lots of bunnies, and senior collie came home once with the head, complete with skin and hair but no ears, and attached backbone, of a deer. Nice.
