What do you think of my welsh section C Aberath Gold soverign? He turned 2 this year so i have to make the decision to geld him or not. I think hes lovely but im a bit bias! ive never had a stallion before so would licence him and get someone to show him next year for me? Id appreciate your comments. thanks

DONT GELD HIM!!! He's lovely....if you have the facilities to keep him entire and happy, then do it...

if you're going to ridden's with him- i've found that stallions usually do better than geldings in the classes- if you can manage him as a stallion and it won't cause any problems- then i don't think you need to geld him

Wow, what a cracker! NO NO NO don't geld. (only if his temperament & conformation are suspect)! His breeder would be thrilled to see how he's turned out. I'm pretty sure Mr Rowlands, Aberarth Stud has had another palomino sec C this year.

Hi,
If you dont geld him are you going to use him for stud as well. As I think it is totally unfair to keep him entire if you are not going to use him in that way.

I agree he is very nice. If you have the facilities to turn him out then keep him entire its not fair to keep a stallion if no facilities believe me i have done it and its really hard work.

no dont geld!!! have you thought about leasing /loaning him out to someone to show him, that means you can see him shown and get used to him being a stallion and he would gain showing experence and be easier for you to show. then you can decide what to do at a later date.
