Do they exist for horses? I know you can get them for dogs. The fluffy pony isn't much bigger than a dog but she could do with a bit less fluff for shows. Is it a ridiculous question?

I have a comb to help get the coat out when they are casting.....it's called a 'Furminator'......you can get them at Pets at Home or ebay etc.......prices vary. They are a dog grooming tool, but are fantastic on horses :-)

I thinned our shetties leg warmers [ she had a clip ] with a tail rake but it took loads off messing about compairing each side to make sure it was even . It has to be done with care or you take out chunks of the coat . Not sure i could cope with doing a whole pony though . If you have a rug on her it will flat the coat down and she wont look so fluffy . A furminator is good but only works when they are losing the coat . Our shetland still had some coat left on her legs at the end of July so she has to be clipped or she would be very hot in the warmer weather .
