RIHS - You need to be a BSPS member to compete in the BSPS Open Heritage RIHS classes. HOYS - For the HOYS you can either be a P(UK), BSPS or NPS member. Olympia - BSPS now run these, so you need to be a member of BSPS in order to qualify.
So BSPS is usually the most popular as it allows you to compete in RIHS, HOYS & Olympia qualifiers. You will need to be an adult member & your horse needs to be registered.
As far as height certificates go, I'm sure M&M's only need a height certificate if they go on to QUALIFY for the final (RIHS, HOYS, etc).

Yes, BSPS will cover you for everything M&M wise (apart from MM workers at the RIHS which NPS covers). Re the height certificate, heritage ponies do not require one when registering but if they wish to compete in BSPS classes they need one, prior to the show. So you need to join BSPS, you can become an adult member, register your pony, and get a height certificate. If he's under seven he'll have an annual height cert, if he's over seven he'll get a life height.

Snowflake, you can compete at rihs&olympia without a height certificate as bsps don't require one,you only need a height certificate if you qualify for hoys(not to qualify) it only applies to m&ms competing in plaited classes aswell not m&m classes, eg a pony that competes in plaited m&m workers. if you read the rulebook&membership form that is what it states(they refer to plaited classes as bsps classes) It really annoys me when people think you need a height certificate for m&ms,it is clear in the rulebook that you don't! Okay a quick help: To compete and qualify for RIHS,HOYS and Olympia you do NOT need a height certificate. To compete at RIHS and Olympia finals you do NOT need a height certificate(apart from RIHS m&m workers) To compete at HOYS all classes(plaited or m&m) require a height certificate. BSPS cover RIHS,HOYS and Olympia qualifiers and you can compete at the finals with just bsps membership. NPS cover RIHS workers and HOYS m&m workers and riddens. BSPS classes refers to plaited classes not bsps m&m classes.
