Whats your thoughts on using a white girth on a bay riding horse? Are they frowned upon or should they really only be used on hacks and Riding ponies

I would only put a white girth on a white grey horse or pony. But that's just my personal preference.

I'm with MM on this. White girths for white ponies, brown for everything else. I know they're trendy on SPs (no idea about horses of any kind) but I personally think they look awful and really break up the picture. I've started seeing them on some bay hunter ponies and even M&Ms Hope that particular trend doesn't take off!!!

Ive seen them on palominos which looks ok depending on the shade, lighter pals it looks ok the darker golden looks not so good! When i was a child i had a very grey/white pony and a dapple grey pony and both had white girths!

some people will use a white girth if the pony/horse is long-backed, to try and break it up a little

i wouldnt put a white girth on a riding horse. Only on a SP or Int SRT if it is slightly long backed it can make them look a little shorter and can look quite nice on a bay. Riding horses should definatly be leather though x
