I would say long boots as that is what is correct for 153cm hunter pony classes

Agree with whp94 long boots are correct for a 15shp. I was 14 when I started wearing long boots with my dales, wore short before that and have to say that long boots looked so much better.

I started wearing long boots at about 12, because in the largebreed classes everyone wore them

Essentially 153cms is a horse and therefore long boots. It is the 143cms wearing them that makes me cross.

I have a 12 yr old on a 153cms. The problem I had is she only has 12 inch calves so you really cant get boots to fit. She wears black jodphur boots and showing gaiters. The gaiter elastic was too long aswell so pretty ponies turned them up a bit so they are the perfect fit. These look perfect and very smart. Its hard with kids because a custom made boot is v expensive and grown out of in 6 months so I felt gaiters and boots the only way to go. When she stops growing she will have a set of showing boots made for her leg.

I'm 16 and ride a 148cm pony. Apparently I'm supposed to wear long boots because of my age, to basically tell the judges I'm 16 or over (17 this month) but I wear short balck boots with gaiters, alot more confortable, don't know if it's correct, and it enables me not to have my leg resticted. Hope this helps. (:

Hmm I think personally, you ride in joddy boots if your riding a pony. I wouldnt put my girl on a 148 sp in long boots. She also rides small m and ms and id go joddy boots despite age.
