Hi, I currently ride and drive. I have driven all my life and i love it HOWEVER you need a good bombproof pony and a careful experienced trainer. I have driven everything trotter to shire and i love it. I have done sidesaddle but found it ok but not really interesting. Driving is only as dangerous as you make it, if you do try driving take an experinced groom who can drive and learn about hand signals etc. Hope this helps. Chloe x

i haven't driven myself but was a bit worried when sat in cart with other person- i don't know why
with sidesaddle- make sure you're prepared to put in alot of time and money into it. it's a really great feeling, but can be a bit uncomfortable at first and if you do too much in the first few weeks- it really hurts- but that means you're doing it right. plus it made my left leg a bit fatter than the right leg lol

I had a B on loan and he had lammy. He now does scurry driving and he is a natural, the driving keeps him fit and slim so he doesnt get lammy again.

you can get into sidesaddle by having a few lessons with a teacher of sidesaddle (contact the side saddle association) to see if you like it. my sis didnt but she just went for it, it suits some people and not others or if you see adisplay (they have them at devon county etc) then they give details, as i said you need to get your sidesaddle fitted by a specialist and it helps if your horse doesnt rear!!! your pony needs a good wither (our connie didnt but found special ss for her). it is great fun as long as you are really passionate about doing it. here is a link to their website, might help you dandyblik xxxxx www.sidesaddleassociation.co.uk/
