Well as it says in the title! I will be having lessons in the next few months but untill then does anybody know any tricks of the trade to help me sit up when riding as I have a tendency to hunch my shoulders and look like the hunchback of notre dame! not a good look! Also when im riding i always look at my horses head and not forward through the ears... I dont know why I do this but when I look ahead I dont feel as safe and feel wobbly! PLEASE HELP

Lessons - having someone on the floor to keep telling you is a good idea, & have a lesson where you can just focus on your position in particular.

Pull your stomach in. If your core is strong you cannot hunch your shoulders. Try it now, its impossible.
So, until you can get your lessons, go to some yoga, pilates or body balance classes.

I swear under Sage's name there should be the words 'ADVICE GOD' She always is fantastic with advice. Never had this problem myself but my friend did alot of stirrup-less work? And she said that helped x

Ask someone to lunge you and take your reins away, i have done this when teaching and it really seems to help i start off with there hands as they would hold the reins and move on asking them to windmill their arms, stretch above their head to the sky and fold their arms infront and behind.

Bit old school But when I was learning (over 30 years ago) My instructioner used to stich a riding crop down my back no stirrups on the lunge It did wonders for my position !

when i notice that i am looking down i try and focus on different parts of the arena and if you're hunching forward then you will more than likely 'lean in' on your corners! my tip for this is say i'm going on my left rein, look as far to the left and it helps you to sit up, also if you're hunching forward, i'd definitely try riding stirrupless and it helps you to sit up properly! hope this helps!x
