As the title says I am looking for a longish show lead, I have a leather one that is fine for the pony but not sure that I fancy having nearly 17hh 3yr old on the end of it. I'm imagining something between standard size (which I guess is about 4ft) and a lunge line. Does anyone have such a thing and where did you get it? Thanks

I bought a John Whitaker show lead from Robinsons sadly far to long for our small ponies . I should have known really that being a John Whitaker product it would be more for a horse than a little sec A  . Ive sold it now im afraid but you could try Robinsons to see if they still do them . |

I would think that your best bet would be to contact a local saddler or put a wanted on here and sometimes saddlers will PM you back. Don't think it would be any more expensive than a standard length one.

Risley Saddlery can get you made to measure, to your requirements, with brass or silver attachments, what about using a white rope lead ? or cut down smart white lunge line for your big one ?

When I used to show my (now 16.2hh) RH in hand as a youngster, I used to use a normal length leather lead rein, with a set of plain reins attached to the end loop - plenty of length for when he was being silly, jumping around (before he was gelded!!).

I can make any length, and width show lead rein. Plain leather, laced, plaited or with notches. Havana, black or even tan. 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1.0". 6ft, 7ft, 8ft,, or longer?? Leads also available in white web, or in brown sure grip rein, again any length. If you need anything different I can make it, small ponies to 17hh!! www.shetlandshowingtack.com07949 125195 |
