I am looking for a Coloured Stallion in Southern area (so many are up North ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) ) He has to be between 16 - 16.2hh. Perfer near T.B or Warmblood (def not hairy nor hairy feather, no no) (And no Irish Draught, too heavy) Any info would be useful to me. Many thanks.

Will you not consider AI, as Stanley Grange have a coloured TB stallion in, also Amour G is a lovely WB stallion, he is a Walk in at Groomsbridge stud- Newmarket.

Many thanks to Arrogorn and Lils . I really like Airborn and Phanten ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) and I am waiting for the cost of their stud fee. Groomsbridge stud fee is a bit expensive for my pocket :oand I don't think I can afford A.I as I nearly die ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) after saw how much it will cost for everything like stud fee and A.I and Vet and etc etc ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) Amour G is up North at the moment and £600 stud fee for him ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) I like Trenawin Lydian at Etheridge Farm stud and it's not far for me but I am keen on Coloured Stallion

Most WB type coloured stallions are out competing anyway so generally I would say would be AI only rather than natural cover so I would really look into the AI route. Airbourn will give you a coloured foal but Phanten won't so that may sway you a bit. With AI all you need to do is find the vet and the semen can come to you from anywhere in the world then!

Tessy - Thanks for that info about Phanten !
Does A.I is in same prices as stud fee ? Any idea how much does Vet charge for doing the AI into a mare and how much % will get the mare in foal (only because I heard that covering will get mare in foal better than AI that why I am not too sure about it)

Amour G is up North at the moment and £600 stud fee for him ![:-X](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/lipssealed.png) Not sure why you think he is up north as he is in my field in Norfolk, well he was a moment ago ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) , and will still be doing walk in collections at Groomsbridge. Neither is his stud fee £600. It is £550 which it is true, puts him in the higher price range for coloured stallions but by no way the highest by a long stretch. However he is competitively priced alongside other successful sporthorses, he has BS winnings AND a superb BD record including being placed at the BD National Championships last year. I don't know many other coloured stallions that can say that and are cheaper. We also offer a Live Foal Guarantee rather than NFFR Imho all horses cost the same to keep and I would rather spend a bit more on a stud fee for the right stallion than save say £150 for a possible lesser quality foal. What IS important is that you pick the best match for your mare and that may not be relevant to stud fee. Groomsbridge may be too far for you but they are offering a reduced AI package for mares travelling to the stud for insemination, including free collection fees. If you are looking for natural cover there are stallions out there which will fit your bill but most of the top end sporthorse stallions only do AI.

Check on the CHAPS and BSPA websites for the lists of their graded stallions as I would suggest you always go down that route. The next journal CHAPS produce ( out soon) will include loads of stallion adverts so if you can get hold of a copy it will have plenty of choice. If you want 100% chance of colour it really does narrow down the field a lot! Good luck in your search.

Not if your doing AI only if the mares visit Stanley Grange he is going to be registered as a stallon this year as he is already registered as a foal with a Weatherbys passport in the NTR

I have had some superb foals by Phanten and i know Airborne is doing well and has some lovely foals on the ground. Have you contacted Jill Webb?
The only other stallion i really liked is Sydney K who stands in Wales. We will be using him this year.
Good Luck

Although again up north does do Chilled AI with a stud fee at £300 Greenvale Audacity would be 1 to consider. He is graded and out competing.

I know there is a quite lot of coloured stallion that are up North do have AI but trouble is I don't fancy travelling up to look at the stallions. I've managed to find 6 coloured stallions within an hour drive to their stud ( I know I am lucky aren't I)
