Just a word of warning to anyone with a dryer. Yesterday we had a kitten brought into work(vets) which had inadvertantly been in the tumble dryer for 5 mins Fortunately there was no permanent damage, it was just over heated and distressed but it could have been much worse if the owner hadn't gone back into the room and realised and got it out. Poor owners were distraught but it can so easily happen, it had climbed in the drier whilst the their backs were turned. So anyone with a nosey kitten(or cat for that matter) have a quick peek before you put the washer/dryer on! ;D

This happened to my parent's friend too a few months ago - not as rare as you may think. Luckily they had one with a glass door and she went in to find out what the clonking noise was

Our tumble drier is out in the garage and I try to keep the door shut at all times, but hubby often leaves it open. I have found our chickens in there before now, and they leave little "gifts" inside the drum - found this out quite by accident when what I believed was a clean shirt in fact had chicken poo smeared across the back Hubby gets into trouble now if he leaves the door open...... So, recommendationn to all tumble drier owners - don't leave the door hanging open, then no small creatures can get inside.
