Has any one had experience of shetland pads and slipping about? Ours is English leather but almost spongy/ felt material underneath. Has only been used with a saddle cloth underneath any suggestions/recommendations please?

Get a pro lite saddle stay pad to put under it then it shouldnt slip . They are around £22 from robinsons . Ours is a shetland show tack suede one that dosnt move normally but does need a pro lite pad when the pony is moulting

It should do as it is really grippy once it has warmed up on the pony . My saddle is suede so i dont see why it wouldnt work on yours .

With my pad, I use a limpet pad underneath at home, and then for shows a wet shammy(?) leather - we then never have any problems.

different types of shetland pads seem to sit differently. We have had a variety and find the Zoe Snape seems to stay still with a sheepskin underneath and a non slip girth.

I found that on our pad it was the numnah/saddle cloth that was making it slip! As soon as we took it away the saddle stayed in place. Just meant that the underside of pad got dirty!
